macss5@sbcglobal.net asked:

My foot of the bed is facing the doorway, but is not in alignment with the door. My question is would this still be considered a bad energy flow? Also the other way I can place my bed, is on the left of the doorway, not the same wall and not in alignment with the door. I have felt with the bed placement here, that I have personally had some health complications everytime that I placed my bed here, and I don't know if this is just a coincident or what. What can you suggest would be the best placement for good health?

Dear fengshui Master
I am so confused as to what you have said in regard to fengshui placement. Standing in front door of apt is where career is? And so ahead is always considered south- reputation and fame, disregarding whether it actually is south. For example standing in my front door looking in according to compass -east is infront of me and west is my facing front door. So then I thought my front door would be considered west facing - children section?? Please help clarify this for me, I WILL NEED TO change my whole apt around because I have been using a compass and not the bagua standing in each door assuming south is wall infront of you. Thank you Mia

Don't forget it's okay to position your bed diagonally — some people don't think of that.

1. It's all about the door; north-south-east-west don't matter so much.

2. Bed should be as far as possible from the door.

3. The sleeper should have a wide scope of the room. Don't put the foot of the bed against a wall (most people wouldn't anyway) and it's best not to have a side of the bed right against a wall.

4. When you're lying on your back in the bed, you should be able to lift your head and see the door easily.

- i cannot understand what you are trying to say; you're saying your bed is perpendicular to the door, but it is really not? i cannot make anything out of it. this really do not generate or have bad energy flow - it just signify death to the chinese culture and hence has a bad connotation.

Also the other way I can place my bed, is on the left of the doorway, not the same wall and not in alignment with the door. - fengshui is more than the arrangement of the bed inside the bed. you can have a had arrangement inside the bedroom, and yet live in a house with a very good fengshui, because the bedroom is not responsible in keeping you healthy nor is it responsible for increasing your wealth - which are functions of fengshui. there are other ways to achieve good health and good money luck aside from arranging the bed or how you sleep - have you ever heard of somebody fell ill bec they arranged their beds in a wrong way??? i do practice fengshui, but that to me is just absurd!!!

Your bed is not in a direct line with the door, so your ok. Don't let all the rules of feng shui scare you into thinking negative thoughts. Feng Shui is a positive thing. You should take a look at the feng shui for health kit that myshui sells. The booklet that comes with it give you all the information you need to know and it's all positive advice and easy to follow tips thats not complicated. Good Luck!!

To locate the bed in the best feng shui manner, there are several main points to observe:

1. The bed has to be positioned in such a way that it has to have a solid backup to it. This is to say that it'd be vital to sleep with our heads close to the wall against which the head of our bed is leaned. The further away our head is from the solid wall, the less auspicious energy we're exposed to during our sleep.

2. It's not a good idea to have a ceiling fan right above the bed as, according to the 'Kua' in I-ching, it gives out intrinsic energy imprints for our 'middle section' to be empty, which is absolutely something a pregnant lady should refrain from no matter what. Even for those who are not concerned with pregnancy, such intrinsic energy imprint would throw the solar plexus' energy off balanced, which would create the 'un-groundedness' that is so evident in those who're always considered as having 'bad luck'. Hence the reason for 'bad luck' - when one's not 'grounded', one has nothing to show for, let alone 'luck'.

3. There is no place for mirrors in the bedroom, straight and simple. Besides being used for drawing in energy from its opposite direction, mirrors can bounce energies back and forth, thus creating much dynamic movement of 'chi' - the 'Yang energy'. When too much 'Yang energy' is present in the bedroom, the 'Yin state' is not facilitated. Therefore, it's a wrong idea to have mirrors in the bedroom where the 'Yin state' is to be preferred.

4. The height of the bed is also of much importance in terms of feng shui. One would not want to feel being suspended in mid air when sleeping.
